We collect information you provide when creating an account (email address, name), and information generated through your use of the service (uploaded documents, notes, conversations with the AI, usage logs). We do not collect sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

We use your information to:

• Operate and improve the Academe service
• Process your uploaded documents to enable AI-powered features
• Send transactional emails (account confirmations, billing receipts)
• Respond to support requests

We do not sell your personal information or use it to train AI models.

Academe uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — database and authentication (your documents and account data are stored here)
• OpenAI — AI generation (your document content and queries are sent to OpenAI's API to generate responses; OpenAI's API terms prohibit using this data to train models)

Each third party has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

Your data is stored in encrypted databases hosted on Supabase. We use row-level security to ensure your documents are accessible only to your account. We implement industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.

You may at any time:

• Request a copy of your data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Opt out of non-essential communications

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Academe is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice in the application. Your continued use of Academe after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
