Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for paid Academe products, including software subscriptions, team and enterprise plans, gift purchases, add-ons, and other paid offerings on academe-ai.com. By completing a purchase, you agree to the terms below.

Self-serve Starter and Pro subscriptions include a 7-day money-back guarantee for the first payment on a new subscription. Email hello@academe-ai.com within seven calendar days of that first charge and we will refund the payment to the original payment method. Outside that guarantee window, purchases are refundable only where this policy says so or where a non-waivable consumer-protection law requires it.

Subscription fees for the Academe workspace and other software products are non-refundable after the applicable guarantee window, including for partially used billing periods.

• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access until the current period ends.
• No proration: We do not prorate refunds for unused days, downgrades mid-cycle, or accounts you stop using after the guarantee window.
• Free trials: If a trial converts to a paid subscription, the first paid charge is covered by the same 7-day guarantee.
• Annual plans: Annual plans are eligible for the 7-day guarantee on the first charge for a new subscription. After that window, annual plans are non-refundable.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. Renewal charges are non-refundable unless required by law.
• Account deletion: Deleting your account does not refund a prepaid period and does not stop a charge already in flight.

Enterprise, team, school, department, and writing-center contracts are governed by the refund and cancellation terms set out in the signed order form or master services agreement between you and Academe. Where a signed contract is silent, this Refund Policy applies. Annual enterprise commitments are non-refundable.

Gifted subscriptions are non-refundable to the purchaser once redeemed by the recipient. Unredeemed gifts may be refunded to the original purchaser within 14 calendar days of purchase. Prepaid credits and account top-ups are non-refundable and non-transferable unless required by law.

Add-ons (including additional storage, increased usage limits, premium model access, document credits, and any other one-time purchase) are non-refundable once the add-on is delivered to your account, regardless of whether you have used it.

For software outages, no refunds, credits, or service-level adjustments are issued unless you are on an enterprise plan with a written SLA that explicitly entitles you to credits.

If Academe changes the price of a subscription, the new price applies on your next renewal. Past charges are not retroactively refunded if the price drops. Promotional discounts and coupons are non-refundable, are not applicable to past purchases, cannot be combined with other offers, and may be revoked if abuse is detected.

Please contact hello@academe-ai.com before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer or bank. If a chargeback is opened, we may suspend account access while the payment provider reviews the dispute.

Refunds are not available for accounts suspended or terminated for violation of our Terms of Service, including but not limited to fraud, account sharing, scraping, abuse of free trials, or abuse of promotional pricing. Any prepaid balance on a terminated account is forfeited.

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval. Depending on your payment provider, funds may take an additional 5 to 10 business days to appear on your statement. Refunds cannot be issued to a different payment method than the one used for the original purchase.

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your purchase is the version that applies to that purchase. Material changes will be posted on this page.
