Your research is private. This is the short version of how we protect it. The longer technical description lives in Security & data handling.
Your data is yours
- Private by defaultDocuments are stored in an encrypted database that only you (and people you explicitly share with) can read.
- Not used for trainingYour data is not used for AI model training by Academe or its model providers.
- Not shared with other usersOther users cannot access your work unless you explicitly share it.
- Only sent to providers that serve your requestThird-party calls are scoped to the minimum needed for the task.
- You own what you uploadEverything you write, upload, and generate stays yours.
Encryption
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Database access is restricted to authenticated, authorized requests only.

Account deletion
Request full account deletion at any time by emailing hello@academe-ai.com. Your documents, notes, projects, and account information are permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
